Stock charts
Stock charts, including technical analysis, are one of the strengths of the Stockworm site. Stockworm charting software is packed with technical graphs used for market timing such as stochastics, macd, bollinger bands, candlestick stock prices, and colored volume bars.
The charts page is highly dynamic and customizable. You can include up to 5 charts in any combination of price, volume, and technical analysis charting:
Customizing charts
The charts can be easily customized through a user-friendly chart settings form. The table below summarizes the customizable features:
| Sampling frequency |
| Chart data can be displayed using daily, weekly, or monthly sampling frequencies, allowing more flexibility in your selection of investment timeframe. |
| Date range |
| Charts are plotted over an arbitrary date range. You select the starting and ending dates and Stockworm will automatically update the chart to reflect your preferences. |
| Buy/sell signals |
| Stockworm allows you to choose from a variety of fully customizable technical analysis techniques to generate buy and sell signals which are then overlaid on your plot. |
| Size |
| You can magnify the width and height of the charts independently up to 400% of their default size, so that you can clearly see all of the details on your chart view. |
| Type |
| You can select up to 5 charts within a given chart view, with each of these charts being one of three available chart types: price, volume, and technical analysis. More chart types will be added in the near future. |
| Price plot |
| The price chart is displayed using a user-selected plot style (candlesticks, ohlc, line) and several overlays are provided for the price plots, including moving averages, envelopes, bollinger bands, and the parabolic SAR. You can customize the parameters for any of these technical overlays. |
| Volume plot |
| Volume charts display the trading volume over time using green bars for up days (stock price increases) and red bars for down days. |
| Technical indicators |
| Stockworm supports a wide variety of technical indicators from the Accumulation-Distribution indicator through Williams %R. You can customize the parameters for any of these technical indicators. A full list of indicators is provided in the next tour. |
| Saved views |
| Once you have a chart view that you would like to revisit later, you can always save this chart view using a pulldown menu in the navigation component on the left hand side of the page. |
