Tabs and Tab-specific Links

Navigation around the Stockworm site has been designed to be quick and easy. Primary and secondary navigation is done using the tabs and the tab-specific links beneath the tabs:

Subsections can also be accessed through drop-down menus which appear when hovering over each tab:

The primary and secondary navigation sections for the stockworm site are as follows:

  • home - my stockworm, site news, account info
  • stock analysis - overview, quote, fundamentals, charts, point and figure, report cards

Left navigation panel

Additional navigational elements will be located on the left hand side of every page. An example left panel from the stock analysis->fundamentals->profile section is shown to the right along with an explanation of the 'boxes' shown in this panel.

  • section - section links represent a third tier of navigation. In the case of fundamentals, profile, profitability, earnings, ratios, valuation, and sentiment represent categories of fundamental parameters.
  • quick links - as the name implies, quick links provide a quick way of accessing various features related to the current page.
  • company info - the fundamentals section provides additional company information on the left hand side of the page. Other sections of the site may provide informational messages or tips for site usage or this category may be absent altogether.
  • help on... - this box provides links to the Stockworm manual for topics which instruct on the purpose and use of the currently displayed page.
  • related help topics - this box provides links to the Stockworm manual for topics which relate to the current page or section.

Another set of navigation boxes which are seen on left panel is shown below. This type of navigation is visible when viewing customizable Stockworm elements such as charts, report cards, etc.

  • The my box represents previously saved elements.
  • The stockworm box represents default stockworm elements.

Investing tool navigation

The investing tools (autoinvestor strategies and simulations, screeners, and trading signals) have a couple of unique navigational components. First, each tool features three sections:

  • my tool - this section lists user created or saved versions of the tool (e.g. 'my strategies' contains strategies which you have created.
  • stockworm tool - this section lists tool items which have been contributed as examples by the stockworm team. Use the 'save as' feature to save them as your own and modify them as desired.
  • community tool - this section lists tool items which have been contributed by users in the community forums. Again, use the 'save as' feature to save them as your own and modify them as desired.

Saving and Sharing Tools

Another unique navigation element for investing tools is that the 'save', 'save as', etc. links are located to the upper left of the tool in question. For example, see these links for a stockworm strategy, below. As with other tools, if you are viewing a Stockworm or Community version of the tool, then only 'save as' will be active. Once you save it as your own, the other links will be active. A brief description of each link follows:

  • save - save changes to the current item
  • save as - save the current item as a new name
  • rename - rename the current item
  • delete - delete the current item
  • share - share the current item by opening a new stockworm forum message with the item already attached
