| system upgrades (again) | Wed, 28 Sep 2005, 10:15 AM CDT | |||
| Unfortunately we ran into technical complications which prevented us from completing the major system upgrade last weekend. The good news was that the site was not down long but the bad news is that we need to take the site down again. So … we will have a “down” period starting Sunday (October 2nd) morning around 10:00 am EST. We hope to have the site back up by 6:00 pm EST. We apologize for this inconvenience! |

| screener and autoinvestor offer better backtesting | Tue, 20 Sep 2005, 09:08 AM CDT | |||
| We have now deployed a new feature for screener backtesting and autoinvestor simulations which allows both ‘historical‘ testing features to purchase stocks which are delisted today. This eliminates a significant component of ‘survivor bias‘ from these tools. Our initial tests have not shown huge differences between simulations with and without this new feature, but it is clearly better to backtest with more historical accuracy. This new feature again involves some significant changes to the site, so please let us know if you encounter any problems. |

| The Stockworm site will be down for major maintenance on Saturday, September 24th, starting around 11:00 am EST. We hope to have the site back up by 5:00 pm EST. The maintenance time will allow us to significantly increase our database storage capacity, in preparation for populating our databases with deeper historical data. We apologize for any inconvenience that this down time may cause you. |
